WE RESCUE ENGLISH BULLDOGS

about us

our mission...to provide the best English Bulldog rescue care in Illinois, Southeastern Wisconsin and Northwestern Indiana.

our goal...
to reinvent English Bulldog Rescue in our service area and provide the best outcomes and experiences for the bulldogs in our care, for our adoptive homes and for our volunteers.

our credentials...all of our officers are members of the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network (BCARN). Our leadership team has over 50 aggregate years of rescue experience and currently cares for 22 bulldogs as personal pets.

our philosophy...
we walk our talk when we say Adopt-Don't Shop. We do not buy bulldogs for our program. We abhor puppy mills and brokers and we do not believe it is ethical to compensate them for their unscrupulous trafficking of our breed.
Bulldogs are surrendered to our care by owners, shelters, legal authorities and puppy mills at no expense to rescue or our donors.

our plan...please read our Surrender, Adopt and Volunteer pages to learn more about how adoptaBull is reinventing English Bulldog Rescue for our clients and supporters.

chester is saved from a terrible fate

This incredible guy was surrendered as a stray to the Winnebago County Animal Shelter in Rockford, IL Thanks to our network of Bulldog lovers in our area, this beautiful boy is now in our care and safe from what was a potential euthanasia outcome.

We want to thank our Rockford Chicago English Bulldog Meetup member that first brought Case #A329586 to our attention as well as our other BCARN volunteers in the Midwest and our adoptaBull supporters that became aware of this case and helped us get him to a safer place.

Case #A329586
is now known as Chester. He was estimated to be 10 years old at the time of his shelter intake however we believe he is quite a bit younger and appears older due to a very hard life.

Chester is in foster care with medical evaluation and getting the love and attention he has clearly has missed for many years. Please follow Chester's progress on our Facebook page at
adoptabullenglishbulldogrescue.

If you are interested in adopting Chester or any of our adoptaBulls, you can learn more about our adoption process at
http://adoptabull.org/adopt.html

Would you like to help us with Chester's care? Your donation to help us get this beautiful boy to his best medical condition for his new forever home will be most appreciated.

rescue groups join on July 4th to give Sophie Mackinaw her new independence

This beautiful girl began her journey to a new forever home this July 4th. While we celebrated the holiday weekend, volunteers from multiple organizations worked to make the rescue dream happen for Sophie.

This beautiful eight year old girl was surrendered to
a municipal shelter because her surrender family was  moving.

Sophie showed all of the classic signs of neglect
and our friends Janie Jenkins and Diane Hansell representing The Puppy Mill Project and Little Traverse Bay Humane Society stepped in to pull her immediately.

adoptaBull agreed to bring her into our program and Pilots N' Paws pilots Mark & Karen Bradley stepped up on July 4th for her air transport and the fireworks started!

Miss Sophie made it into adoptaBull's care in one of the smoothest transfers ever. It was incredible to see all of these groups and their representatives working together to get Sophie to a specialty breed rescue group as soon as possible.

Here are the video highlights of this exciting rescue...
